Lenovo A7000 is a good quality Android smartphone, which comes out with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor along with a 2 GB RAM and it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. If you are using this smartphone and looking for a way to root it, you are on the right page as I have given a tutorial to root Lenovo A7000 here.
By following the tutorial given here, you will be able to root your Lenovo A7000 android smartphone by installing TWRP recovery in it. Once you have gained root privileges in your device, you will be able to install custom-built Android applications that only support rooted devices, install custom ROM firmware, etc.

Prerequisites:
Step 1: Before getting started with a rooting procedure, it is safe to take a complete backup of personal data in your smartphone using appropriate apps. So, take a backup before getting started with the rooting process.
Step 2: Next, download Lenovo A7000 USB driver and install it on your computer, so that you can connect your smartphone with it successfully.
Step 3: Now, enable USB debugging mode in your smartphone. For that, first enable Developer Options by following this path: Settings -> About Phone -> Build Number (tap on it for 5-7 times to enable Developer Options). Once done, enable USB debugging by following this path: Settings -> Developer Options -> USB Debugging.
Step 4: Make sure that you have deactivated or uninstalled antivirus programs on your computer. Also, ensure that your smartphone has at least 50-70% battery backup in it before getting started with the rooting procedure.
Once you have finished all these preliminary tasks, you can move forward to the rooting tutorial given below.
Tutorial To Install TWRP Recovery In Lenovo A7000:
<Step 1: To get started, download SP Flash Tool and TWRP Recovery for Lenovo A7000 to your computer. Once done, extract SP Flash Tools and click on flash_tool.exe to open its window. Next, extract the TWRP recovery package to get the MT6752_Android_scatter.txt and TWRP_2.8.6.0_A7000_ROW.img files.
Step 2: Now in the SP Flash Tools, click on “Scatter-loading” and choose the “MT6752_Android_scatter.txt” file. Next, click on the recovery option and select the “TWRP_2.8.6.0_A7000_ROW.img” file. Also, select the “Download Only” option in the drop-down menu as shown in the screenshot.
Step 3: Next, click on “Menu” in SP Flash Tool, choose “Download” and enable “DA DL All with Checksum“.
Step 4: Once done, click on the “Download” button in SP Flash Tool.
Step 5: Next, download SuperSU zip package to your computer. Once done, connect your Lenovo A7000 smartphone to the computer and transfer the SuperSU zip package to your device’s internal memory. Now, unplug your smartphone from the computer.
Step 6: Now, switch off your Lenovo smartphone by removing its battery. Once done, put the battery back into the smartphone by don’t restart your device. Now, connect your smartphone to the computer using the original USB data cable. Once you have done that, the flashing process will begin.
Step 7: Once the flashing process gets finished, you will get a green circle in the SP Flash Tool as shown in the screenshot below.
That’s it. Now you have successfully finished flashing TWRP recovery in Lenovo A7000 Smartphone. Don’t restart your smartphone yet. Let’s find out how to root your device.
Tutorial To Root Lenovo A7000:
Step 1: To get started, boot your device into the TWRP recovery mode by pressing the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons simultaneously for few seconds.
Step 2: In the TWRP recovery screen, click on “Install“, then “Select Zip To install” and choose the SuperSU package in your device’s internal memory to begin the rooting process.
Step 3: Once the rooting procedure gets finished, click on “Reboot System” to reboot your device normally.
That’s it. Now you have successfully finished rooting Lenovo A7000 Android smartphone using SP Flash Tools. For confirmation, use the Root Checker app from the Google Play store.

In recovery, wipe data/factory reset and reboot. Your device will boot normally.
